German Soldiers:Local Franco-Prussian War veterans, who " had an annual celebration with beer, music, speeches and best of all, target shooting with the old (Mauser) rifles. These picnics were usually held in Faerber's creek flat west of "Wahla's Corner" in a nearby grove." In Sanilac County.
