Provide service and technology to the varied needs of our community through the Village Library.

Policies

I.    Loan Policies

    A.  Books may be borrowed for two weeks and may be renewed twice.   All magazines go out for one week and can not be renewed.  No current reference books, encyclopedias, or valuable local history books will circulate.

    B.  CD's go out for 1 week. Cassettes, and cassette books may be borrowed for two weeks. Video's go out for 3 days. The charge for videos owned by the Deckerville Library are $1 per video. 

    C.  Maps and vertical file materials may be borrowed for two weeks, with no renewal.

    D.  Borrowers living outside of the Deckerville School District may use all library services without a special charge.  However, they are limited to borrowing only two items the first time.

II.  Fines

    A.  Fine for all materials except videos Overdues are now .10/day with a day of grace. and

    B.  Fines for all late DVD's and videos are now 2.00/ 2 days.

    C.  The maximum fine charged for lost or damaged materials will be their replacement value, assessed at the discretion of the librarian.

    D.  Patrons are expected to return materials promptly so that others can use them.  Patrons will be notified when material are one week overdue.  Borrowing privileges may be withheld if  materials are not returned and fines or loss/damage charges are not paid within two weeks of the overdue notice.

III.    Use of the Fax Machine

   A. Calls made to the 810 area code will be $1.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.

   B.  Calls made to the 313, 517, 248 and 616 are codes will be $2.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.

   C.  Charges for out-of-state calls will be $3.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.

   D.  The charge for receiving messages will be 15 cents per page.
